OVERCOME | DAY 8 OF 31

What do you think about yourself? How do you think about yourself? Can you even bear to think about it? I am continually blown away by how quickly I can assassinate myself in my mind if I'm not careful. Sometimes the most damning words over our lives are not from others, but actually from ourselves. You're not good enough. You're not smart enough. If only you hadn't have done.... If only you had... And before you know it, your thoughts are in a spiral of negativity and accusation.

BEGIN | DAY 6 OF 31

Events that I never thought I would see in my lifetime... have happened. And then, on the day that Brexit happened, I remember the penny dropped for me in a fresh way. I need Thee EVERY hour. And no matter WHAT is happening in the world, or who is in power, or how dark the days... or how good life feels, or how well I am doing, or if there is an abundance of money in the bank. No matter the season, my need for God doesn't change. Because every breath of my life is held together by His grace.

LEARN | DAY 4 OF 31

If you get tired, learn to rest. That kind of makes me giggle, the idea of having to learn to rest. Why is rest not natural to so many of us? And why are we so out of touch with who we are and how we feel that we cannot discern between when we should rest and when to give up. I know, I know, we should never give up. But I don't know about you, but I have, too many times.

LIVE | DAY 3 OF 31

There have been certain seasons in my life where I thought I would never feel free. I would never get over "that" pain. Or I would never be able to conquer that goal. The bible says that "without a vision, people perish", a friend of mine also says it this way "when the vision is unclear, the cost is always to much". But, when the vision is clear, then nothing can stop you.

DANCE | DAY 2 OF 31

In the last week, I have had the opportunity to 'Dance on the Disappointments' of my life in a major way. You see, my teenage years ended cloaked in guilt, shame, and a sense of deep, deep disappointment. Where had the hope, innocence, and joy of my childhood gone? A lot of it was stolen; a lot of it I gave away.As I walked out of my high school, I made a vow to never enter that place again. And I hadn't. That is, until last week.

BLOOM | DAY 1 OF 31

After a season of the unexpected, I can tell you, that no matter where life and circumstance so called "plants" you, a heart planted in the hands of Father God and roots grown down into His heart, watered with His love, in soil of community and relationship will not wither and die. It will flourish. You will flourish. Grace is the key. His grace. He is the vine, remain in Him.

FOCUS

Every time I write it, say it or think about that word I smile. Because just saying it... Focus... Brings a stillness to my heart and a deep breath in my lungs. As I say "focus" I feel lots of pressures and tensions fall away, because I don't have to do it all! It is a quality over quantity word. It is a word that causes one to live from a posture of being proactive rather than reactive.

AUTUMN ASPIRATIONS

Simply put, Harvest is the process of gathering ripe crops from the fields. Reaping is the cutting of grain and pulses. Harvest also marks the end of the growing season. As I was reading up a little on the subject I felt a tugging at my heart and a question popped up - What have I grown over the last season that is now ready to harvest? What have I been cultivating that is ready to be pruned?

BRAVING THE SILENCE

In the West we are not used to being quiet, we do not practice "getting quiet". In fact, if most of us are honest, we fear the quiet. And stillness is a foreign, abstract idea. You see stillness is not the absence of movement... Quiet is not the absence of sound. To still and quiet ones soul is a journey for the brave because it means that each of us have to face the resounding jungle of words, thoughts and voices that line the path along the way.

COLLIDE

“It's the sense of touch. In any real city, you walk, you know? You brush past people, people bump into you. In L.A., nobody touches you. We're always behind this metal and glass. I think we miss that touch so much, that we crash into each other, just so we can feel something.” from the opening scene of the movie Crash.
