LIVE | DAY 3 OF 31

Welcome to "31 Days of Words to Love By." For the next 31 days, I am working my way through my Pinterest board of quotes and writing down my thoughts about each one – what they spark, where they lead me, and how they apply to every day life... I will be putting a Five Minute Friday spin on it, by writing for 5 minutes, free flowing and unedited. This largely unedited free-write is linking up with the annual Write 31 Days Challenge. // indicates the start and stop of five minutes. //

Today's quote: I will walk in freedom.

//There is something powerful about declaration and proclamation. Especially when it is made with confidence and defiance against the prostration in which your circumstances and mood have left you. To say, it doesn't matter how I feel, I will...

I WILL... Freedom is an interesting thing. In Galatians 5 Paul writes "it was for freedom Christ has set you free" but it would seem to me that there there is a huge gap between knowing you are free and walking in freedom. What does it mean to you to "walk infreedom"? Or to say it another way, to "live free".

For me, living free meant deliberately turning my back not only on certain feelings such as guilt, or anger, or shame, but living in the other direction. I couldn't just forgive people who had hurt me in a theoretical way, but living free from my hurt meant treating them according to the forgiveness rather than severing the relationship. Living free meant treating myself not according to the way I thought I should feel, but extending kindness to myself and speaking life over who I am.//

You need a will to war. To all our war against anything that threatens you living free. Anxiety you got to go. Comparison? Aint nobody got time for you! I WILL live free!

Today, are you living free? Are to free to LIVE? Because if you are not, sometimes it starts with a declaration of purpose, vision and intent. I WILL live free.

There have been certain seasons in my life where I thought I would never feel free. I would never get over "that" pain. Or I would never be able to conquer that goal. The bible says that "without a vision, people perish", a friend of mine also says it this way "when the vision is unclear, the cost is always to much". But, when the vision is clear, then nothing can stop you.

So, on days where it was and still can be tempting to give up, this is the thought that now runs through my head. "What do you want more, to remain like this, or your freedom?" And something continually rises up in me saying "freedom".

Maybe this sounds a little over dramatic to you? But for me, it is highly practical. Take a "less dramatic" proclamation, such as

"I will be fit and healthy" awesome commitment. But how do you feel on the first day that you tie on your running shoes and you have to actually go for the run? How do you feel when you get a massive stitch or your muscles burn?

The same principle applies. Without a vision, you cast off restraint and go back to what you've always known.

So friends, what WILL you do? How do you WANT to LIVE? Are you free? Are you LIVING free? Because you were born to! Start by declaring that to day. "I will live free." See what happens.

Thanks for stopping by, K xx
