LIST | DAY 13 OF 31

Welcome to "31 Days of Words to Love By." This largely unedited free-write is linking up with the annual Write 31 Days Challenge. // indicates the start and stop of five minutes. //

Today's quote: Esteemed, valued, set apart, chosen, pursued, loved.

//I don't know about you, but I love me a good list. In fact I'm kind of a list geek, like, seriously. Listing makes me all kinds of happy. When I'm confused, it helps me get my mind right, when I'm busy, it helps me organise my thoughts, when I'm depressed its a wonderful way to get grateful.

But, there is one list that I don't like. And that is the list of charges against me. Which daily, between me and my relentless adversary, gets read, re-read and re-read over and over and over. Like a tape. You know the list I'm talking about right? You have one too. The list of failures, past hurts, past indiscretions, the things you're not good at. It goes on.

We read in the bible, when Jesus was led into he desert by the spirit, that the devil came to him // and over the course of His time there the devil brought questions, accusations and temptations. And Jesus addressed each statement with the same rebuttal - "It is written"... When you look into what those words mean in full, He was saying "it is written and presently still on record that..."

When Jesus went to the cross and rose again, he dealt the list of charges against you. He said some amazing words "It. Is. Finished." And He meant it. The day, the list of charges was not only pronounced null and void. It was erased. As if, it had never existed in the first place. And a new list began. The list of who you are, in Christ.

Esteemed.

Valued.

Set Apart.

Chosen.

Pursued.

Loved.

Do you know the true list of who you are? If you don't there is a beautiful love letter written to you, it's called the bible. And in it, is the list of who you are and how your creator feels about you. Why not try giving it a read and see what happens to your mind, you thoughts and even your everyday life.

Thanks for stopping by, K x x
